AceOfPyrite reveals he suffered stroke after Berlin Major, has impaired vision

He is still hoping to continue to cast Siege.

Rainbow Six Siege caster Tim "AceOfPyrite" Leaver, aged 37 years-old, revealed on Aug. 31 that he suffered a stroke five days ago, after the conclusion of the Six Berlin Major.

In a statement released on Twitter, he shared that the stroke manifsted as a "blind spot" on the left-hand side of his vision and had a distortive effect on the rest of his vision. While the distortive effect cleared the next day, the blind spot did not.

After consultation with medical professionals, he was diagnosed to have suffered a stroke.

While Ace said he has not suffered any other ill-effects, his vision is still affected. He will be continuing to seek treatment and will be consulting with specialists in hopes for "at least a partial recovery".

Ace also expressed hope that he will be able to continue to cast Rainbow Six Siege and revealed he is already "learning to work around the limitations".

Now a Siege veteran, Ace had begun casting the game in 2018 in the lower rungs of the competitive ladder. He secured his tier-one break at the Six Invitational 2020 and has continued to cast every international event, the EUL, and the APAC North Division since.

Ace was also part of the English-speaking broadcast crew for the BR6 2021 as a host, but that was only for Stage 1 that year.

Most recently, he casted the Berlin Major and lent his voice to the thrilling 68-round grand-final between Rogue and FaZe Clan.
