Heroic signs cowana Gaming roster, adds UUNO

Heroic has returned to the EU League after being relegated last season.

Heroic has announced the acquisition of the ex-cowana Gaming roster ahead of the 2022 EUL Season. In addition, the ex-G2 player of Aleksi "UUNO" Työppönen has been signed after Ralph "Anarchic" Coates was moved to a coaching role in Jan. 2021.

This comes four days after Heroic announced that Murat "Mrofficer88" Motevalli had joined the organization.

The cowana Gaming roster initially won their spot in the EU League after winning the 2020 Challenger League tournament. Since then, they finished the three EUL stages in third, seventh, and sixth place.

Most recently, the team lost the SI 2022 EU Qualifier grand-final 2-3 against MNM Gaming and just missed out on the world championship competition.

Heroic, meanwhile, only joined the R6 scene in Stage 3 and had its team automatically relegated from the EUL a month later. Now, the famed Danish organization rejoins the league with an improved roster that includes three Nordic members.

Most notably, this includes the newest addition to the roster, UUNO, who competed on G2 Esports for over two years before being benched in Jun. 2021.

This will be the new Heroic lineup when the EUL kicks off later this month:

Nathan "Grizzly" Harding
Jake "Sloth" Brown
Georgi "GorgoNa" Stoyanov
Benjamin "Benjamaster" Dereli
Aleksi "UUNO" Työppönen
Murat "Mrofficer88" Motevalli (head coach)
Ralph "Anarchic" Coates (strategic coach)
David "davil" Tóth (analyst)
