Siege Around the World this Week - April 2-8th

While the Pro League continues on, let’s take a look at the biggest and best games from all the lower leagues around the world this week, the 2-8th of April

This series aims to highlight the best and most interesting games of all the lower leagues in competitive Siege, from the BR6 national league to the German Saturday League, to ensure you don’t miss the best action going on at all levels of play.

Brasileirão 2019 - INTZ eSports Club vs FaZe Clan

While on the surface this game looks like a fairly easy one for FaZe Clan as they sit a whole ten points ahead of INTZ in the Pro League, the Brasileirão is a different story. Currently, these two teams sit in second and third place in the league both fairly comfortably in a LAN qualification position four and six points ahead of NiP in fifth place.

The last time these two teams played in the BR6 league was way back in October when INTZ (then known as Bootkamp Gaming) held FaZe to a draw as one of only two teams to not fall to FaZe during their three months undefeated streak between the Paris Major and the Season 8 Finals. Since then both teams have undergone dramatic changes to their rosters with FaZe picking up Ronaldo "ion" Osawa and INTZ acquiring Lucas "yuuk" Rodrigues and João "DRUNKKZZ" Giordano making this a dramatically different matchup.

As well as being a pretty big matchup in the BR6 league, this will also act as a preview of their Pro League matchup in two weeks time during the penultimate week of the Latin American online season giving these Pro League level matchups in the BR6 some added weight.

Saturday League - PENTA vs Aquila

The Saturday League is a weekly German national tournament with both a Premier and Contender Division (effectively a league A and B). Both leagues began last week and will see 15 teams play every week in a round robin online tournament. While the German R6 poster boys of Natus Vincere aren’t participating, the Pro League roster of PENTA is involved as they both are a German organisation and the reigning German champions from their Castle Siege 2018 victory.

This week the favourites of PENTA will play Aquila, the winner of the LG Challenger Series last month with a number of players with LAN experience from previous German tournaments. While PENTA will be the clear favourites in this matchup and the wider tournament, this is an excellent chance to see the up and coming German players and teams compete against one of the best teams in Europe.

The full team list and match schedule can be found here with the league scheduled to continue on till the end of April before the first Saturday League champions are crowned.

Challenger League: LATAM - Team oNe eSports vs Guidance Gaming

The last Challenger League game of this week will see the top teams in Latin America’s Challenger League face off with the winner becoming the clear favourite to earn the automatic promotion to the Pro League for Season 10.

Last season Guidance gaming narrowly lost to both ReD DevilS e-Sports and paiN Gaming to deny their promotion to the Pro League and will be hoping that the introduction of Bruno “McX” Costa and the ex-Black Dragon’s player of Rodrigo "rdz" Santos onto the roster will help them push further than last season and into the top tier of competitive R6.

Below: ReD DevilS reaction after defeating Guidance Gaming and being promoted to the Pro League last season

Today we have taken an important step in the history of ReD DevilS, after much work and much dedication we’re two-time champions of the Challenger League!!!

Team oNe comes in straight from the open qualifiers to being undefeated in the Challenger League after six games. The team has quite an experienced roster with three members previously playing in the Pro League -- Jonatas "MEG4" Silva for RED Canids’ during Season 7 and both Kaique “Faallz” Moreira and Tassus “reduct” Issi as Black Dragons’ former substitute and coach during Season 8. This all makes this matchup a hugely anticipated one as two of LATAM’s most promising rosters face off in one of the most important lower league matches in the region this season.

CCS: NA - Nemesis Esports vs Tune 6quad

The penultimate match of the NA CCS regular season will see the ex-Pro League player of Marcus "Talon" Lynn’s new roster of Tune 6quad play against a fairly unknown roster of Nemesis Esports who took down the Pro League squad of Team Reciprocity 2-0 less than a month ago.

The statistics between Nemesis Esports and Team Reciprocity during week 4 of the CCS NA league.

Currently, both these teams sit in the bottom two positions in NA CCS with five points but with BitterSweet not playing tonight and Ocean Creatures having an incredibly hard matchup against the Challenger League leaders of Organized Chaos this week it is fairly likely that whoever wins in this matchup will qualify for the playoffs in a few weeks time and guarantee themselves a slice of the $10,000 prizepool.

Tune 6quad will be the favourites for this matchup but with the victory against Reciprocity and the fact that they don’t have Challenger League to be focusing on means Nemesis could very well upset many and make it to the CCS playoffs. Don’t miss the finale of the CCS league this week with this game scheduled for tonight at 8pm EST!
