Berlin Major grand-final preview: All the records, milestones, and firsts on the line for FaZe and Rogue

The Berlin Major grand-final will make history.

Not only will they fight for the title, trophy, prize money, and Six Invitational points, both FaZe Clan and Rogue's players have a lot of individual and team accolades on the line.

Here's a look the records that could be broken, and milestones crossed:

FaZe or Kanto to be first two-time Major champions

This very FaZe roster previously won the Six Sweden Major title in Nov. 2021. This makes them one of five prior Six Major victors, alongside G2 Esports, Team Empire, Team oNe, and DarkZero Esports.

Should they win the Berlin Major, it would make it two for FaZe and their players.

Similarly, the very first Six Major was won by G2 Esports -- Kantoraketti's team at the time. He can also become the first individual two time champion here.

Spoit becomes the youngest-ever Major winner

Spoit turned 18 years-old on Apr. 11, 2022 -- 132 days ago.

The current youngest Major winner was Dan, who won the Raleigh Major on Team Empire while aged 18 years and 143 days.

Dan will still hold the all-time age record, as he won the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals just 52 days after his 18th birthday. However, Spoit has a good chance of wresting the Major record away from him.

Kantoraketti ties Canadian with title wins on 3 teams

Three months ago, Canadian won the Charlotte Major on DarkZero, which added to his Six Invitational victories on Spacestation Gaming and Continuum.

Similarly, a win today on Rogue would add to Kantoraketti's Pro League Season 6 win on ENCE and his three titles on G2 Esports.

Notably, Canadian won Major titles on all three teams, while Kantoraketti only won a Pro League title on ENCE.

301 weeks between tier-one grand-finals

301 weeks ago, meepeY played a Pro League grand final on Playing Ducks against Continuum. The game came down to the final round on map three, where a 1v1 gave North America their first and only Pro League title.

It's been four (notable) rosters since then -- PD, i dont know, eUnited, and now Rogue -- three Challenger League seasons, two Six Minor title wins, and a change in roles, but meepeY is back in a grand-final.

Can he go one kill better?

FaZe tie cTm and Empire as the second-most successful team of all time

The original G2 players are unmatched with their success, as Pengu, Goga, Fabian, and Joonas has won six total titles; two Six Invitationals, one Six Major, and three Pro League Finals.

Behind them sit Continuum (later known as Evil Geniuses), who won a Six Invitational and a Pro League Final, and Team Empire, who won a Six Major and a Pro League Final.

Winning two Six Majors would draw FaZe Clan alongside these two and possibly even in second, depending on how much you value a Six Major title over a Pro League title.

FaZe will also be the second team after G2 to win non-consecutive titles.

FaZe Clan home revenge

The last time FaZe faced Europe in a grand-final was in Rio de Janeiro at the Season 8 Finals in Nov. 2018. Here, they lost infront of a home crowd to Kantoraketti's G2 Esports.

Prior to this the only other Brazilian final was in Sao Paulo during Season 6... which was also won by Kantoraketti on ENCE.

Now, FaZe can get their revenge and beat Kantoraketti to a title in front of a European crowd.

EU could overtake NA in number of Majors won

Putting aside Pro League titles, Europe has won four Major events; SI 2018, SI 2019, the Paris Major, and the Raleigh Major.

NA is also on four; SI 2017, SI 2020, SI 2022, and the Charlotte Major.

Currently LATAM is on three; SI 2021, the Mexico Major, and the Sweden Major.

A Rogue win could take EU back ahead of NA, while a FaZe win could make it a three-way tie.

First EU title in over 1000 days

The last time Europe won any official global tournament was at the Pro League Season 10 Finals, 1,015 days ago. This unenviable streak could come to an end.

If FaZe win, then Europe will be nearing North America's three-year streak from SI 2017 to SI 2020, which totals 1,106 days. Europe will hit that on Nov. 20, 2022, likely to be the actual date for the November Major grand-final.

Three-peat for Bullet1

Bullet1 previously won the Pro League on Team Liquid and a Six Major on FaZe. He is already the only Brazilian with two titles and a win today will give him three.

No player right now has three tier-one titles; Kanto and Canadian has four, Goga, Fabian, and Joonas has six, and Pengu has seven. He will therefore overtake ShepparD, JoyStiCk, Scyther, Dan, karzheka, Necrox, nvK, Yung, Falko, KS, and SHA77E to become the seventh-most successful player by titles won.

The DreamHack Valencia connection

MeepeY and LeonGids' first global title? DreamHack Valencia 2018.

Deapek's debut global event? DreamHack Valencia 2018.

Kantoraketti's first event as a permanent member of the PENTA squad? DreamHack Valencia 2018.

2,500 kills for Kantoraketti and 3,500 for Astro

Astro is on 3460 kills. As such, it is possible that he will hit a 3,500 kill milestone.

Kanto is now on 2,478 kills, just 22 short of the 2,500 milestone.

A factor of 10 behind him is Spoit who, at 217, needs 33 kills to hit 250.

Kanto $631.10 behind Pengu

If Rogue wins the full $200,000 prize pool, then, according to esportsearnings.com, his $40,000 share of the winnings would give Kanto the seventh-highest prize money won by all players at a $372,526.29 total, just $631.10 behind Pengu.

Kanto would remain the seventh-highest earning Finn in esports, Deapek would become the 44th-highest earning Dutch player, and cameram4n would become the 27th highest earning Brazilian.

Deapek the first Dutch winner since PL Season 1

The last time a Dutch player won the title was oVie in Season 1, who played alongside Pengu. Deapek can make this two for the Benelux region.

British players last won at the Season 10 Finals, the last time Nordic players won a title was at SI 2019, and KS was the last German to win in Season 5.

LeonGids & Kanto have joint-most Major top-four finishes with Pengu, Canadian, Fabian, Goga, & Joonas

Canadian has won three Majors and finished in second place once, at SI 2018. Pengu, Canadian, Goga, and Joonas also won SI 2018, the Paris Major, and SI 2019, and finished in the top four in Raleigh.

Now, Kantoraketti and LeonGids join this somewhat trite accolade. Kanto won SI 2019, the Paris Major, and was in the top four at Raleigh, while LeonGids made top four in Paris, Raleigh, and Sweden.

It's 2-2 in key games between FaZe and Rogue's prior lineups

Before Rogue were Rogue, they were previously Giants Gaming, Looking For Org, LeStream, and Millenium.

Millenium knocked FaZe out of the Season 7 Finals, FaZe knocked LeStream out of the Season 8 Finals, while LFO knocked FaZe out of DreamHack Valencia 2019. Most recently, FaZe beat Rogue in their final game of the Sweden Major group stage to top their group.

The Paris Major also saw FaZe knocked out by the American Rogue roster, and a Team Secret that starred meepeY and LeonGids.

FaZe lead 3-1 in actual head-to-heads

During the Sweden Major group stage, both teams beat each other once. Rogue won 7-5 on Kafe, while FaZe won 7-3 on Clubhouse.

Since then, they also met during the SI 2022 group stage, where FaZe Clan won 2-0 after a 7-3 win on Villa and a 7-4 win on Chalet.
