LIVE Berlin Major LIVE Coverage - Day 1 gets underway

Check back here for regular updates on day one of the Six Berlin Major.

w7m esports beat Oxygen Esports, 7-4

Oxygen ended day one with zero points, while w7m earned the full six as the Brazilian team won Club House, 7-4.

This means the three American teams failed to earn a single win today with XSET gaining North America's lone win while Soniqs rescued an overtime point against G2 Esports.

FaZe and G2 top Group B after Day 1

Group B's games have now finished for the first day of action.

So far, both FaZe and G2 have beaten SANDBOX and Soniqs. The lone difference in results saw Soniqs take G2 to overtime, meaning Soniqs sits in third with one point while G2 is second with five.

FaZe Clan has beat Soniqs, 7-4

After taking G2 Esports to overtime, Soniqs has lost against FaZe, 4-7.

This means Soniqs ends day one in third place in Group C with one point while FaZe earnt all six to go first.

FaZe vs Soniqs going to Oregon, w7m vs OxG on Club House

Neither FaZe nor the Soniqs excels on Oregon, however, FaZe did beat sQ on this map 7-4 at SI 2022.

In contrast, w7m and Oxygen are both very good on Club, with Oxygen winning all three prior meetings here.

w7m esports beat Gaimin Gladiators, 7-4

Brazil has notched yet another win as w7m won all three points in their opening game of the Major.

Gaimin did hold their own on the defence, finishing with a 3-3 half before getting swept on the attack. Kheyze was the top fragger here with 13 kills to nine deaths.

G2 Esports beat Soniqs, 8-6

G2 Esports have come back from a 1-5 deficit to beat Soniqs in overtime.

While Alem4o topped G2's fragging statistics, Gryxr got the most kills in the game, and Doki led the team throughout the first half of the match.

Super-team vs supr's team goes to overtime

After getting just two kills in the opening three rounds, G2 has brought the game against Soniqs to overtime. Gryxr has reached 14 kills to five deaths while both Doki and Alem4o sit on nine kills.

G2 and Soniqs are going to Theme Park while w7m vs Gaimin goes to Kafe

Soniqs has opted to go to their most banned map, Theme Park. The team played the map twice during the very first NA League Stage over two years ago with a very different roster.

G2, meanwhile, has played the map just once this year during the Charlotte Major quarter-final against Team Liquid. They lost here, 4-7.

W7m are flawless on Kafe this year with five wins against NiP, Isurus, BD, Furious and FURIA. Gaimin, meanwhile, lost it 4-7 against Elevate.

“The APAC region taught us to defend and attack every play style”: Elevate's Mark talks Astralis upset, flawless Day 1

The Thai squad stunned all with a 7-3 demolition of Astralis.

Ahead of Soniqs vs G2, check out our recap of the rivalry so far

The best of the Alem4o vs Supr rivalry so far

Group A concludes with Rogue in 1st

Rogue sits on six points, DWG is on zero, and NiP and XSET are tied on three after two games each.

Tomorrow both XSET and NiP will face DWG which, unless the Koreans have improved drastically from today, will close the gap between them and Rogue. This will make the Rogue vs NiP and Rogue vs XSET games some of the most important in the group.

XSET beat Ninjas in Pyjamas, 7-3

XSET have recorded North America's first win of the tournament while NiP suffered LATAM's first loss. This makes these two teams the first ones to both win and lose a game, as every other team that has played multiple times has either two wins or two losses to their name.

While Wizard was NiP's top player, he "only" managed nine kills while SpiriTz and Yoggah earnt 11 and 10.

Group D has finished for the day

With all four games played in Group D, FURIA and Elevate are clear at the top with six points each, while Astralis and MNM are on zero. FURIA narrowly leads Elevate by two rounds while MNM is two behind Astralis.

These two pairings are set to face each other tomorrow morning, MNM vs Astralis at 10:30AM and Elevate vs FURIA at 11:50AM.

FURIA beat Astralis, 7-4

FURIA have now won back-to-back maps on Border putting them on six points, while Astralis sit on zero.

Fntzy topped the team's kill count with 14 while R4re and J9O secured 11.

Both Game 6s are happening on Border

Astralis and FURIA will go to Border in Group D's final game of the day. Border is the same map which FURIA just beat MNM on, 7-1.

NiP vs XSET is also on Border as Wizard hopes to hit a rating over 2.0 yet again.

NA has 3 losses in 3 games, close to a record low start to a Major

With losses against Wolves, Elevate, and Rogue, North America has now lost their three opening games.

This is the second worst start to a major ever for North America after the Sweden Major where NA teams won just three rounds in the first three games compared to 11 today. In Sweden, only one NA team made it into the playoffs, and NA lost seven of the eight games on day one.

Rogue beat XSET, 7-4

Rogue has added to their 7-2 win against DWG earlier today with a 7-4 win over North America's XSET. This makes them the second team to win all six points in day one alongside Elevate.

The game initially saw XSET take a 3-1 lead before Rogue stormed back. Kantoraketti, in particular, stood out as the most successful player at the event ended with 16 kills compared to the next best player on the server with nine.

FURIA beat MNM Gaming, 7-1

In the joint most one-sided game of the tournament so far, FURIA has won their opening game of the Six Major. This means MNM joins SANDBOX and DWG on zero points after two games.

Miracle and Fntzy both got 10 kills in this game, while Yuzus topped on MNM with six.

This marks four wins in four maps from Brazilian players as FURIA, NiP, FaZe, and G2 have all won their games while XSET is currently leading against Rogue.

MNM and FURIA go to Border, Rogue play XSET on Oregon

In what could be a perilous choice for MNM, they've chosen to take FURIA Esports to Border -- a map that rewards fast and frenetic gunplay, a Brazilian staple. MNM has also never played this map before, with it being their third most banned map in the pool.

Rogue meanwhile, will go to Oregon for just the second time this season against XSET. The team previously beat Secret here, 7-3, but were knocked out here against Elevate at SI 2022, 7-8.

Half way through Day 1, here's how the tournament stands

Currently, Elevate is the only team to have won all six points. The other teams who have finished for the day are Wolves, who dropped one point versus Gaimin and both Korean teams, who both have zero.

The best performance so far has come from Wizard as he secured a 2.15 SiegeGG Rating as he collected 14 kills to two deaths. The lowest rating is at 0.34 from Woogiman.

Only five of the nine maps have been played so far, with Oregon receiving three picks. Six of the remaining eight games all include North American opponents as they hope to get their first win of the event.

Wolves Esports beat Oxygen Esports, 7-4

After narrowly beating Gaimin Gladiators in overtime, Wolves have earnt all three points against Oxygen Esports. This is the second "upset" loss in two games for North American teams after Astralis lost to Elevate earlier in the day.

The top two players were P4 and Nuers, who each earnt 13 kills.

FaZe Clan beat SANDBOX Gaming, 7-5

Both South Korean teams have ended day one with zero points between them as FaZe Clan beat SBXG on Theme Park.

Cyb3r topped FaZe's fragging statistics with 14 kills to seven deaths while soulz1 got 12 kills. For SANDBOX, EnvyTaylor ended with 12, and SyAIL and Static earned 10.

Both teams' next game is against the Soniqs.

Theme Park and Clubhouse matches to follow in fourth set of games

Both FaZe Clan and SANDBOX Gaming have a very good record on Theme Park, with SBXG having beaten CAG 8-7 and Talon 7-4 here, while FaZe beat Liquid 8-6 went 7-8, 8-7 against FURIA.

This game is Korea's last of the day and they have won one, two, and three rounds in their three maps played so far.

Meanwhile, Oxygen Esports will take on Wolves Esports on Clubhouse. Oxygen hasn't lost this map all year while it is Wolves' most played map.

Wolves Esports beat Gaimin Gladiators in 8-7

In a much closer game than many expected, Wolves Esports has defeated the Indonesian Gaimin Gladiators roster in a tight 8-7 scoreline. This means that GG gains a single point while Wolves wins two.

Mowwwgli led the game by the number of kills as he hit 16 in total, including a quadruple kill on the crucial round 15. P4 hit 13 while Tolji was on 15 and Ape on 14.

Considering this was Gaimin's debut event on the global stage, this is a remarkable result that may have opened up the tough Group C even further.

G2 Esports beat SANDBOX, 7-3

A flawless round, an ace from CTZN, and a quadruple kill from Alem4o all added to 7-3 victory for G2 against SANDBOX in the first match for both teams at the Six Berlin Major.

Following two decisive losses from DWG earlier in the day, this is a nightmare start for the APAC North sub-region and Korean R6.

The game ended with CTZN on 15 kills and Alem4o on 14, while Prano secured just one. The game was close to a 7-0 blowout if it wasn't for a 1v1 clutch from by EnvyTaylor.

Chalet and Oregon for the third games

Gaimin Gladiators will make their global debut against Wolves on Oregon, while SANDBOX will return to global Siege on Chalet against G2.

Both G2 and SBXG have fairly good records on Chalet, however, it is usually banned by the Korean side. Meanwhile, Wolves have a perfect record in Oregon, beating NAVI, Heroic, PWNZ, and G2 on this map this year. GG, however, have lost here against both Dire Wolves and Knights during Stage 1.

All 4 games so far have been led by the rookies

Out of the four games played so far, all four have ended with the winning team's rookie being the top-rated player.

NiP vs DWG saw Wizard end with a 2.07 Rating, and 13 kills to two deaths.

Elevate vs MNM ended with markshortboyz on a 1.45 Rating with 14 kills to seven deaths.

Elevate vs Astralis ended with both rookies in the top two; markshortboyz on a 1.46 Rating, and MrPuncH on 1.38.

And Rogue vs DWG ended with Spoit on a 1.71 Rating with 13 kills to five deaths.

Elevate beat Astralis, 7-3

Elevate have ended day one with the full six points as they took down North America's top-seeded team. MrPuncH, one of the team's newest additions, was the joint top-fragging player on 11 alongside Onigiri.

Coted, Woogiman & RIN are averaging a combined 2.1 kills per map

With both of their games in day one now completed, DWG have ended with just three rounds won in total. These results against Rogue and NiP saw coted and Woogiman earn just four kills across the two games, while RIN secured five.

Ninjas in Pyjamas beat DWG, 7-1

DWG KIA have ended day one with their second loss as they managed just a single-round win against Ninjas in Pyjamas.

NiP's newest addition, Gustavo "Wizard" Gomes hit double figures in this game, with 14 kills to just two deaths.

Club House and Oregon up next

The map bans for the second set of games have been completed as DWG vs NiP will take place on Club House while Astralis vs Elevate will be on Oregon.

Club House is NiP's joint most played map this year with the second-best win rate. Meanwhile, Oregon is Astralis' best map with six wins in six games this year, the best single-team map record in the tournament.

On August 18th, 2021, DWG lost twice against NiP on Club House, 8-7, 8-6, in their debut event. This makes this a perfect rematch almost exactly a year on.

Rogue beat DWG KIA, 7-2

APAC's top-seeded roster, DWG KIA, have fallen in a one-sided match against the mixed European Rogue lineup. The only two rounds won by the Koreans came due to a 1v2 by RIN and a 2v4 recovery, which included a team kill from Juhani "Kantoraketti" Toivonen onto Pascal "cryn" Alouane.

William "Spoit" Löfstedt ended his debut global match with 13 kills in nine rounds while Pascal "cryn" Alouane had 10. ON DWG, Heo "CATsang" Se-woong got nine kills while the rest of his team had no more than three each.

Elevate beat MNM Gaming, 7-4

Elevate have won the first match of the Six Berlin Major with a 7-4 result. A 3-3 half went heavily in Elevate's favour in the second half as MNM's low offensive win rate and loss rate on Theme Park hurt them once again.

The game ended with Mark on 14 kills to seven deaths, while Tyrant was MNM's top fragger with 11 kills.

Rogue leading DWG 4-2 at mid-point

Rogue is leading the top-seeded APAC roster, DAMWON KIA, 4-2 at the midway point. Currently, Spoit is top fragging with eight kills despite playing on Finka, rather than his usual Iana. Kantoraketti, meanwhile, is on seven while playing Iana and Ash while Cryn also hit seven while roaming.

In stark contrast coted, Woogiman, yass, and RIN had seven kills combined between them.

3-3 between MNM & Elevate at the halfway point

After six rounds, MNM Gaming and Elevate are tied, with Luke "Tyrant" Casey topping the kill count with eight. Considering Elevate's strong defences in APAC, this result is statistically positive for the Thai roster.

Both games have started 2 hours 12 minutes late

2 hours and 12 minutes after the game was scheduled to start, MNM vs Elevate began on Theme Park with MNM on the defence. During the 2022 Season, Elevate has the highest defensive win rate of all teams in attendance, while MNM has the lowest attack win rate.

Adithep "DCH" Channuan earnt the first kill of the Major on Jackal against Fatih "Solotov" Türker on Valkyrie.

A few minutes later, DWG vs Rogue also started on Bank.

Bank & Theme Park to be played first

The map ban phase for both games has ended, with Bank set to be played in Rogue vs DWG KIA and Theme Park in Elevate vs MNM.

The MNM Gaming organization notably hasn't won on Theme Park since the EUCL 2020 season, while DWG have won on Bank five out of five times in the APAC League, but lost there against both FaZe and the Soniqs on the global stage.

LeonGids & Onigiri report that their PCs have not been set up yet

The ongoing delay to the Six Major's start is due to a delay in set up at the venue according to both Paramin "Onigiri" Suwanwattana and Leon "LeonGids" Giddens:

30 minute further delay to game 1

Game 1 has been delayed

The opening game of the Six Major on both streams has been delayed. While the pre-show was meant to begin at 10AM local time, the onstream countdown is now set to finish at 11:15, meaning the first game won't start until at least 11:30 AM CEST (UTC+2).
